Introduction
Tucked along Bukit Pasoh Road is a Chinese bookshop named Grassroots Book Room. The bookshop is mostly stocked with Chinese books, but there is an interesting selection of English books as well. There is also has a cafe at the back.
草根書室是新加坡的華文獨立書店兼出版社，創立於1995年，原址位於國家圖書館對面的橋北中心，2014年11月搬遷至武吉巴梳路現址。草根書室除保留原有中外歷史，中西方哲學，藝術，電影，戲劇，華文現代文學，西方和日本翻譯文學等類別外，亦增加繪本，生活美學和飲食文學等不同風格的書籍供讀者選擇。書本由新加坡，馬來西亞，中國，香港和台灣等各地的華文出版品中精選，同時亦推介富有本地特色的英文書籍。
