Lotus leaf rice is a classic Chinese dish consisting of glutinous rice wrapped and steamed in lotus leaves. The rice is usually soaked, seasoned with various condiments and spices, and blended with additional ingredients such as Lup Cheong (Chinese Sausages), mushrooms, shrimps, and lotus seeds. When steamed, the rice is thoroughly infused with seasonings and the subtle fragrance of lotus leaves. Always served hot, this flavourful dish is usually enjoyed as a part of traditional dim sum meals. In this workshop, there will be a demonstration of preparing and cooking of glutinous rice and you will get to learn how to wrap mini lotus rice by yourself too!
