Overview
Experience the colourful art of traditional Cantonese Opera and learn how to appreciate the intricate movements, music and elaborate costumes in a one-hour talk/demo and performance, accompanied by a refreshing pot of tea. The talk is conducted in English. Participants have the chance to ask questions and take photos with the performers. The programme is suitable for all, including children from the age of 3 and above. The programme is conducted by veteran performers and teachers of the organisation who have dedicated their lives to Cantonese Opera.The ”Sights and Sounds” experience costs $30 per person. A minimum of 2 bookings is required, due to the preparations required to prepare for the performance. We hope that you will leave the Chinese Opera Teahouse with an appreciation of the intricacies of Chinese Opera and how the Chinese communities in Singapore have kept the art alive up to the present day!
